Climate Change Survey

An informal survey to see how people perceive/experience climate change in their own lives.

Do you believe that human beings have had an impact on global climate change?

 Yes

 No

Have you personally experienced what you believe to be the effects of climate change?

 Yes

 No

 Don't know

If you answered Yes to question #2, how have you perceived/experienced climate change in your own life?

 Warmer summers

 Colder winters

 unusually high precipitation/flooding

unusually strong or frequent wind storms

Unusually long dry/wet spells (either or both)

noticeable increase/decrease of local flora and fauna

More than three of the above

Not applicable (I don't believe climate change is real)

If you believe we are experiencing global climate change, what can be done about it?

Nothing. It's too late for us to do anything to change things.

I think that we can halt the effects of climate change, but it will take a long time and some changes will never be reversed.

Using advanced technology, we will be able to both halt and reverse the trends of climate change in our lifetime.

There is no need to do anything. (I don't believe that climate change is real)

This survey was created using the “WP-Surveys” plugin. It’s relatively easy to use, but the documentation is almost nonexistant. You can only have one survey active on your site using WP-Surveys—so until you close one survey, you can’t open a new one. The answers are all in Radio Button format… Meaning that you can only select one answer for any question—no multi-choice answers. Also, there is a limit of ten answers you can have for any one question. This is fine for most surveys, but in some applications it may not work.

In use, all of the questions are presented together on one page, and the stying needs to be modified in the theme’s CSS to make it better integrated with the site. The results are only available to the site admin, with little more than a one-line “thank you” to the user for taking the survey—not editable by the admin. Finally, there is no option for the user to identify themselves for follow-up with the admin.
